Gyokeres Set for Possible Arsenal Debut Against Spurs
Arsenal fans have one question on their minds ahead of the clash with Tottenham: Will Viktor Gyokeres make his debut?
Mikel Arteta remained tight-lipped when asked last week, but with the Swedish striker now fully involved in team training, a first appearance in red and white looks increasingly likely.
Fellow new signing Cristhian Mosquera could also make his Arsenal bow. The defender was not ready to feature against Newcastle, but with Riccardo Calafiori sidelined following yet another injury setback, Mosquera may be called upon. The extent of Calafiori’s injury is unclear, and Arteta is unlikely to risk him alongside other absentees Gabriel Magalhaes (knock) and Jurrien Timber (ankle).
Spurs Hit by Injuries
Across North London, Tottenham will be without six players for their pre-season tour. Bryan Gil, Manor Solomon, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Destiny Udogie, and new recruit Kota Takai have all been left at home to continue recovery.
Additionally, youngsters Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine, and Dane Scarlett have been excluded as they prepare for potential loan moves.
However, £55m signing Mohammed Kudus is set to feature, while captain Son Heung-min remains involved despite ongoing talks over a possible move to MLS. No transfer is expected to be finalized before Spurs return to the UK.
