Bayern Munich vs Tottenham: Team News and Key Updates
Bayern Munich will be without Jamal Musiala for the foreseeable future following the serious injury he sustained during last month’s Club World Cup defeat to PSG. The German giants are also missing Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies, both of whom remain sidelined through injury.
The only first-team addition to Bayern’s squad this summer, former Liverpool forward Luis Díaz, made his unofficial debut over the weekend in a friendly win against Lyon. However, it was Michael Olise who stole the spotlight — the ex-Premier League winger came off the bench to score both goals in the 2-1 victory and is now expected to start in this upcoming fixture.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will hand Joao Palhinha his debut in a Spurs shirt — and it will be against his former club, just days after completing a loan move from Bayern. Another player facing his old team is Mathys Tel, whose switch from Munich to North London was made permanent this summer. The young forward is in line to feature against Bayern at the Allianz Arena.
However, Spurs will be without key midfielder James Maddison, who joins Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin on the long-term injury list after sustaining a serious knee issue in the recent clash with Newcastle.
