Levante vs Barcelona: Match Preview
Levante head into this clash with a number of concerns in their squad. Goalkeeper Alfonso Pastor is ruled out through injury, while Olasagasti, Kervin Arriaga, Goduine Koyalipou and Alan Matturro remain doubtful due to fitness issues.
On a positive note, Jeremy Toljan made a strong start to life at the club, scoring on his debut against Alaves, and the 30-year-old is expected to retain his place in the starting XI. Fellow summer signing Manu Sanchez should feature on the opposite flank, giving Levante balance on both sides. Forward Roger Brugue, who impressed with 11 goals last season, is also set to lead the attack once again.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are still without goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is recovering from a back injury. However, Robert Lewandowski has returned to training after missing the Mallorca match with a hamstring problem. While the Polish striker could feature in the squad, manager Hansi Flick may opt for caution and keep him on the bench.
Jules Kounde is expected to slot in at right-back, with the rest of the side largely unchanged from the Mallorca fixture. Fermin Lopez will be eager to hold onto his midfield role ahead of Dani Olmo, while Ferran Torres, fresh from his goal against Mallorca, should continue to lead the line.
Barcelona are still awaiting the registration of Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin and Roony Bardghji, meaning none of the trio are available for selection.
