Real Madrid will continue to manage a number of injury absences ahead of Saturday afternoon’s La Liga fixture, with Trent Alexander-Arnold (thigh), Eder Militao (hamstring), Ferland Mendy (hamstring) and Brahim Diaz, who is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, all unavailable for selection. Defender Antonio Rudiger has also been omitted from the squad as he continues to manage a knee issue.
Several first-team regulars were rested during Madrid’s recent Copa del Rey outing against Albacete, but are expected to return to the starting lineup this weekend. Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Alvaro Carreras, Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni are all set to come back into the XI. However, forward Rodrygo has been ruled out and will play no part in the match.
There may also be a change at right-back, with Dani Carvajal pushing for a start after appearing from the bench in midweek. His inclusion would allow Federico Valverde to move back into his preferred central midfield role.
Turning to Levante, the visitors arrive with a relatively clean bill of health. Defensive trio Roger Brugue (knee), Unai Elgezabal (knee) and Victor Garcia (hamstring) remain sidelined, but no fresh injury concerns have been reported.
Forward Etta Eyong has missed three of Levante’s last four league matches due to Africa Cup of Nations involvement. However, he returned as a late substitute against Espanyol last time out and is expected to be recalled to the starting lineup.
There should also be a central role for striker Ivan Romero, who has contributed four goals and two assists in 15 La Liga appearances this season, making him one of Levante’s key attacking threats heading into the contest.
