After spending four months on the sidelines with injury, Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku has returned to full training and could even be named among the substitutes at Al-Awwal Park.
That would provide another timely boost for Antonio Conte, who welcomed Stanislav Lobotka back into action on Sunday. However, Napoli are still without several key players, with Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Billy Gilmour all sidelined in midfield, while first-choice goalkeeper Alex Meret also remains unavailable.
In Lukaku’s absence, Rasmus Højlund has shouldered the attacking responsibility for the Partenopei, contributing eight goal involvements across all competitions.
Milan, meanwhile, continue to rely heavily on talisman Christian Pulisic, who was the hero last time out with a match-winning brace against Torino. Since arriving in Serie A two years ago, the American has amassed 41 goals and 22 assists, including a strike against Napoli back in September.
With Santiago Gimenez still struggling with an ankle issue, Pulisic is expected to partner either Christopher Nkunku or Rafael Leão in attack. Leão missed Sunday’s draw with Sassuolo as a precaution, but could return here.
At the back, Koni De Winter may be handed a rare start in central defence, as Matteo Gabbia has not travelled to Saudi Arabia due to a minor knee problem.
