Achraf Hakimi is unlikely to feature as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury that almost derailed his AFCON 2025 ambitions. Sofyan Amrabat is also a major doubt due to a leg problem, while Hamza Igmane is expected to miss Sunday’s clash after picking up a hamstring issue.
Although Brahim Díaz was Morocco’s top scorer during AFCON qualification, the Real Madrid attacker heads into the finals lacking momentum, having struggled for consistent game time at club level. In contrast, no player in the Morocco squad boasts a stronger scoring record than Youssef En-Nesyri, with the Fenerbahçe striker having found the net 25 times and expected to be the main attacking threat.
Comoros, meanwhile, appear to have a clean bill of health, leaving coach Stefano Cusin with a fully fit squad to choose from. Goals were well distributed during qualification, though Youssouf M’Changama and Rafiki Saïd both scored twice, with the latter memorably netting the winner in a shock 1–0 victory over Tunisia in Tunis.
It remains to be seen whether experienced 36-year-old El Fardou Ben Nabouhane will spearhead the attack, but Faïz Selemani offers a strong alternative if Cusin opts for a fresher option up front.
