Team News: Alavés vs Real Madrid
Alavés will once again be without Nikola Maras (knee) and Facundo Garcés (suspension) on Sunday, while Jon Guridi faces a late fitness test as he continues to recover from a knee issue.
Aside from those concerns, the hosts are in good condition overall. Following their impressive performance and result against Real Sociedad last weekend, manager Luis García Plaza could be tempted to name an unchanged starting XI. Lucas Boyé — with three goals already in the 2025–26 season — should continue to lead the line, while former Barcelona midfielder Denis Suárez is expected to keep his place in the attacking setup.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are dealing with another heavy injury and suspension list. Dani Carvajal (knee), Ferland Mendy (muscle), Trent Alexander-Arnold (thigh), Éder Militão (hamstring), and Endrick (suspended) are all ruled out, as are Fran García and Álvaro Carreras, who both serve suspensions.
There are further doubts over Eduardo Camavinga (ankle), David Alaba (muscle), Dean Huijsen (discomfort), and Kylian Mbappé (knee). Huijsen returned to training on Friday and could feature from the start, but the club will avoid taking any risks with Mbappé, who missed the midweek clash with Manchester City due to persistent knee trouble.
Tactically, Jude Bellingham may operate in the No. 10 role behind a front two of Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior. At the back, the injury crisis could see Raúl Asencio shifted across to left-back to provide cover.
